Bassettwood farm is located on the edge of the picturesque village of Tissington in the Heart of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District. Tissington is close to the market towns of Ashbourne (see also, the annual Ashbourne Shrovetide Football), Bakewell, the popular village of Alstonefield, Dovedale (see also, the annual Dovedale Arts Festival), Ilam, Milldale, Hartington, Carsington Water (ideal for fishing and sailing) and the Manifold Valley.

All within an hours drive you will find Haddon Hall, Ilam Hall, Chatsworth House, Sudbury Hall, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall and the lovely, traditional market town of Bakewell, famed for its Bakewell Tart.

For the Children (and adults!), Alton Towers, Carsington Water, Go Ape! and Gullivers Kingdom are all within easy reach by car.

If you love cycling there are miles and miles of traffic free and family cycle routes, notably the Tissington Trail which can be found 5 minutes from the farm. Bicycles can be hired from Ashbourne Cycle Hire in the centre of the town.
