A friendly, family run farm in the picturesque village of Tissington in the Heart of the Derbyshire Dales
BASSETTWOOD is a friendly, family run farm in the picturesque village of Tissington in the Heart of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District. Tissington is close to the market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, the popular village of Alstonefield, Dovedale (see also, the annual Dovedale Arts Festival), Carsington Water (ideal for fishing and sailing) and the Manifold Valley.
Tissington is famed for its Hall, the home of the Fitzherbert family and is the regular backdrop for many period dramas and films and the village hosts their spectacular well dressings annually in May.
Brian and Sarah Allen and their family welcome you to BASSETTWOOD and guests are encouraged to collect eggs, pet the pygmy goats, lambs and piglets or just to enjoy the many walks or the 20 mile long Tissington Trail cycle track.
At Bassettwood we are involved in the design and creation of one of the wells for the annual well dressing which takes places for a week in May every year.
The farmhouse bed and breakfast has two delightful double rooms with ensuite facilities and there is additional accommodation in the fabulous shepherd's hut.
The hearty farmhouse breakfasts are sourced using mainly local products, in particular meat from Tissington's own butchers, and jams produced on the Estate.
Our Tearoom is open Friday - Sunday from 12pm - 5pm. The Tearoom is also open on Thursdays 12pm - 5pm.
